July 10 Harslov-Hamburg

Today was a travel day. We said farewell to our hosts (and now fast friends) Goern and Kim.
The trip back to Germany required a ferry trip across part of the North Sea from Sweden to Denmark, a drive to the south coast of Denmark, another ferry from Denmark to the north coast of Germany, and more driving to Aumuehle, the suburb of Hamburg where Peter & Ina live -- a six hour trip altogether.
We arrived in Aumuehle in a rainstorm, but forged onward, walking to the post office at the train station and then into town to do a little food shopping. Kate prepared a tasty vegetarian meal and we ate at home. It was quite a contrast with our last visit; instead of 12 people in the house it was just the three of us. All the other family members were gone on short trips.
After dinner Peter entertained us with photo albums showing family history, including young Dino and baby Myrna.
Today we're off to the Netherlands.
