July 12 Edam & Amsterdam

We awoke to a rainy morning today. Still, lots of activity just outside our window.

Since the weather was supposed to stay dicey, we decided to take the bus into Amsterdam and check out a museum or two.

We spent quite a bit of time at the tourist information center, trying to figure out how to get places. First we decided to walk.
Once we were thoroughly soaked and thoroughly lost, we decided to take a taxi to the Rijksmuseum. There we joined a long line of patient people, waiting for admission in the rain.
We eventually were rewarded by a very fine exhibit of works by the Old Masters, including Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Hals. (no cameras allowed)
When we finished our museum tour, the rain had stopped and it was almost dinner time.

So we called it a day, bussed home, and soaked up a little more of the view from the deck in front of our hotel room in Edam.

Tomorrow, who knows what we'll do?
